Don't know if anyone else is aware of this convention:

http://www.twicon.org/

TwiCon Vegas/Toronto 2010 is "vamping" up our convention! Are you a Twilight fan? How about a True Blood fanatic? Can't stop watching CW's new Vampire Diaries? Love to read JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series, or other vamp pop culture books?

TwiCon is bringing the vamp pop culture phenomenon to Las Vegas/Toronto! Offering new programming and stars from today's hottest vampire movies, television series and books, TwiCon 2010 is truly the most exclusive convention for the Edward, Sookie, Elena, and Brotherhood fan. Stay tuned as we announce attending celebrities and special guests, new programming and tons more with our new and improved website!

For True Blood they have Sam Trammell going so far.

I might be over in the U.S at the time, so I might go to it depending on dates and what I am doing. I am not so much a Vampire Diaries fan, but True Blood and Twilight sounds like some fun!

those are the guys that put on twicon last year right? hmnnnnnnnn.. i dont normally say bad things about other conventions but be careful. last year was a major clusterfuck. You'll have to pardon my language but i follwed that event pretty closely and i could see it was going to be a disaster before it even happened. Hopefully they've learned form their mistakes and havent burned too many bridges. I really do hope you have a wonderful time though. i'll keep my eye on it and when they post a schedule up and more information i'll give it a lookover and point out any potential problems i see to help you try and avoid them.

Thanks :)

It is not certain we are going anyway. Most likely not as it does not fit into our schedule that we had planned and it would involve a complete trip change. And hearing what you said has actually confirmed some things I did hear about it before, so maybe I won't even bother trying. I'd rather save my money if it is going to be a waste of time.

I see TwiCon has been canceled due to "competitive pressures, coupled with the persistent nature of the economic downturn".

Lack of ticket sales perhaps?

id say lack of ticket sales plus the fact its so hard to get the actors pinned down for an event now... other promotors have sent the cost of the guests skyrocketing and theyre all getting so much other work that they keep having to pull out. and twicon was new to the whole indury so they wouldnt have the experience to combat these kinds of things... its hard enough for us and we arent in direct competition with creation (they still try to screw us but wee far enough away that they occasionaly forget about us) twicon was right there in their face and creation dont like competition.

I've been a major fan of Grey'sfrom the beginning. I appreciate that they do what they do without showing so much blood and gore. It's about the people, the characters and how they are living their lives as well as making their living through surgery. This six season
has been the most dramatic
of them all so far, with engrossing story lines and believable bahavior on the part of the characters. My only comlaint is that I now have to wait a whole year before I can have next season in DVD!
